Health review could spur major changes

All avenues will be explored says Treasury Minister

Government is to spend up to three quarters of a million pounds on a comprehensive review of how healthcare is delivered - which could see new funding options introduced.

The investigation will deliver recommendations aimed at combating chronic overspending in the health department, amid claims the deficit could grow by a quarter over the next five years.

The review's independent chair, Sir Jonathan Michael, will work with Tynwald members, DHSC staff and patient representatives.

Treasury Minister Alf Cannan insists all avenues will be explored.
