Caine believes sites are part of identity as a nation
Adequate funding must be available for essential repairs to heritage sites.
That's according to a Garff MHK who says they are part of our identity as a nation.
Manx National Heritage will start a two-stage project in November to get the Great Laxey Wheel turning again.
The initiative is joint funded with Treasury.
Daphne Caine believes MNH shouldn't have to 'go with a begging bowl' to government when it needs to carry out important maintenance:
Ramsey and District Cottage Hospital closure 'inconvenient' but 'significant issues' need to be fixed
Four local authorities looking for by-election candidates
Reinstatement of home births 'remains at top of agenda' for Manx Care
Weekend sailings at risk
