Efforts to find permanent staff for 'understaffed service'
Manx Care says it needs to amplify permanent recruitment of skilled medical staff in order to stop pressure on its budgets.
It's contending with the 'high cost' of using agency staff and locums.
Non-executive director Nigel Wood says whilst this is a 'fantastic relief' to an understaffed service it can't be maintained.
He claims 'innovative solutions' are needed to get people to join the service and stay put – especially after the pressure of Covid-19:
Bus drivers to hold off taking industrial action while talks continue
Regulation of Health and Social Care Bill pushed back to 2027
Manx patients will be contacted if appointments are impacted by UK strikes
Patient taken to hospital after medical emergency on board Manxman
