History made as 10 women are elected to House of Keys

Female representation in eight constituencies

History was made last night as 10 women were elected to the House of Keys.

It's double the number voted into the administration in 2016.

Two constituencies recorded another historical marker - each returning two female representatives.

Douglas South was the first to do so with Sarah Maltby and Claire Christian topping the poll – the latter saying it was a huge achievement:

Douglas East became the second constituency to elect two female representatives with, Manx Labour Party Leader, Joney Faragher and, returning MHK, Clare Barber both successfully elected.

Douglas Central, Garff, Glenfaba and Peel, Middle, Onchan and Rushen also all returned female MHKs.
