Dedication to cause over decades
The driving force behind the Island's Samaritans service has been made an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours, announced today (17 June).
Suzanne Harding, a volunteer for the past 35 years, is currently the charity's director on the Island.
She combines regular sessions at the call centre's listening service, which takes calls from all over the UK, with training and recruiting volunteers, and fund-raising.
An MBE also goes to deputy chair of Isle of Man Newspapers Trudi Williamson, for helping raise the Isle of Man's profile during a 40 year career with the firm.
Stalwart Marown resident Julia North, involved in charity work, the local Poppy appeal and Parish Day, receives the British Empire Medal, for services to the Manx community.
