Pregnant women with Covid-19 might need extra care, but are they receiving it?

Health minister insists expectant mums aren't falling through the gaps

The health minister's admitted more could be done to let pregnant women know of the extra care they might need if they catch Covid.

The advice from Manx Care is to call the maternity unit for a check-up, but most pregnant mums we spoke to were unaware of it.

There's also no information on the government's website or its dedicated coronavirus pages.

The support varies case by case, but could include a course of blood-thinning injections or an extra scan to check the baby's growth.

Lawrie Hooper insists expectant mums aren't falling through the gaps:

To get in touch with the maternity ward for more information, call 650030.
