Hope for patient transfer improvements

MHK Ashford encouraged by health minister's comments

An MHK says he is hopeful the Island’s patient transfer service in the north west of England will quickly improve.

North Douglas member David Ashford tabled his latest question on the issue in the House of Keys yesterday (Tuesday).

There’s been a number of complaints after Liverpool based company ComCab took over the contract six weeks ago with some local patients and carers claiming the operator drivers use excessive speed on bumpy roads and that ill and frail passengers are sometimes left on fold-up seats in vehicles.

After quizzing the Health Minister Kate Beecroft, Mr Ashford says he’s encouraged the complaints are being listened to.
