Members will question ministers on healthcare capacity, flood defences, transport disruption and government services
A debate on the horse tramway and statements from the Treasury and Infrastructure Ministers are among the items scheduled for discussion at today’s (Tuesday 17 March) sitting of Tynwald.
The session will begin with an emergency question from Onchan MHK Julie Edge to the Minister for Health and Social Care.
She is asking what action the department and Manx Care have taken following calls from senior doctors at Noble’s Hospital for immediate intervention over bed capacity pressures.
In total there are 14 questions on the order paper, including the emergency question.
Among the starred questions are queries about the potential impact on the Isle of Man amid the ongoing situation in the Middle East, as well as an update on flood defence measures in Ramsey.
The Speaker of the House of Keys has also tabled a question regarding the Island’s community hubs.
Other topics due to be raised include the non-payment of parking fines, the latest position on industrial relations at Bus Vannin, and what support is available outside Douglas for residents who struggle to access government services online.
Members will also ask whether Isle of Man Post retains any portion of payments made to government services through sub-post offices.
Meanwhile, Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse has tabled a question about the ongoing disruptive works at The White Hoe.
