Hospice IOM ambassador raises more than 9k for charity

Stroke survivor Edward Kelly hopes to help others with similar experiences

When he'd just turned 21-years-old Manx man Edward Kelly had a brain-stem stroke.

Despite being fully conscious he couldn't breath on his own, move his limbs or use his voice; the only way he could communicate was with his eyes.

He was in intensive care for six weeks and it took him seven months to get back on his feet.

Fast-forward 18 years and Edward recently made it to Marown in eight hours in this year's Parish Walk - raising more than £9000 for Hospice Isle of Man in the process.
