Commissioner and MHK clash over endoscopy unit

DHSC moving service to Noble's Hospital in Douglas

A Ramsey commissioner has taken a town MHK to task for comments attributed to him in the local media.

 

Lawrie Hooper's quoted as saying he was 'disappointed' the Friends of Ramsey Cottage Hospital focused more on money than patient care when discussing the ending of the endoscopy service in the town.

 

Some equipment, funded by the Friends, will now be transferred to Noble's Hospital.

 

Eric Corkish says the Friends should be praised for their efforts.

Mr Hooper has responded, saying the remarks were borne out of a 'frustration' with the whole affair.

He says the real issue is why the DHSC has made the decision:
