Clash 'damages' Tynwald's standing
The chief minister has described the suspension of an MHK from Tynwald this week as one of the lowest points in his political career.
Allan Bell says Tynwald's standing has been damaged by John Houghton's refusal to apologise for his misconduct.
A lengthy report by a parliamentary committee concluded Mr Houghton bullied a member of Tynwald staff, who later resigned.
The report was backed by Tywnald, and Mr Houghton was ordered to apologise
He refused, and became the first person to be suspended from Tynwald indefinitely.
Mr Houghton has since been suspended from his role in the Department of Infrastructure.
Mr Bell says it's a very regrettable outcome:
Main road between Peel and Douglas to shut for tree felling
'Targeted and intelligence led approach' to protect Island's borders during Irish sailings
Airport Director role advertised with top salary of £120,000
Traders on Michael Street feel 'abandoned' by politicians in tough times
