Housing complex in memory of Fiona Bone

A housing complex will be opened in Manchester this Saturday in memory of former Island resident Fiona Bone.

The officer with Greater Manchester Police was killed while on duty in the city just over two years ago.

The Trafford Housing Trust has dedicated its latest care facility, a a development of 71 apartments for those aged 55 and over to Fiona.

Fiona Gardens is in Sale, where she lived.

Her family oversaw the first brick laying and a collection of pink balloons were released to mark the occasion.

A commemorative stone, laid by Fiona’s parents and sister, has been placed at the entrance to the building to honour her bravery.
