£500K needed to build new facility at Nobles
A campaign’s been launched to develop a new hyperbaric chamber in the Island.
If the Friends of the Hyperbaric Chamber can raise half a million pounds (£500,000) a dedicated new facility and chamber will be built at Noble’s Hospital.
In a major expansion for the service, it would allow the unit to more than double its capacity from around 90 appointments a day to up to 250, along with improved access.
A new home and improved facilities.
The premises would be big enough to house two large chambers, offering scope for many more oxygen therapy treatments.
E-gaming firm Celton Manx is backing the launch of the fund and funded a professionally designed brochure to distribute to the island’s business sector setting out details of sponsorship opportunities.
Although the unit currently receives an annual grant of £100,000 from the health budget, it needs to raise £50,000 in donations each year.
The facility has been running for 30 years, enhancing the recovery of patients with a range of injuries and conditions, including many motorcyclists and road racers.
