Increase in police patrols to try and deter Bonfire Night troublemakers

Reports of some anti-social behaviour on Hop Tu Naa

Police will increase patrols in the lead up to Bonfire Night to try and deter troublemakers.

Officers say there were a ‘small number of individuals’ who used last night’s Hop Tu Naa celebrations to ‘act in an anti-social manner’.

This included letting fireworks off, throwing eggs and doors being knocked and kicked.

“Sadly after the media work, social media posts and education sessions within the schools we still had some poor behaviour.” – Isle of Man Constabulary

The Isle of Man Constabulary says it’s something it sees every year and was not limited to a particular area.

Those who were identified as causing trouble were, or will be, spoken to dependent on the individual circumstances.
