Increased police presence following robberies

Two in two days alerts authorities

Police have reassured the public that there will be an increased response, following a robbery and an attempted robbery on two consecutive days.

Strang Stores in Braddan was targeted by three men, one of whom was carrying a knife, on Monday.

Then, a woman who was alone at Newby's on Glen Falcon Road, Douglas, on Tuesday night was threatened by a man as she was closing the shop at around 10pm.

He made off with a cash box, containing £1,000.
