Increased workload 'has eroded work-life balance' for teachers

Union members beginning action short of a strike today

Extra duties outside lessons have eroded teachers' work-life balance.

That's the view of a teaching union which is beginning industrial action short of strike today.

Members of the NASUWT will not be taking part in additional tasks, before or after school, as part of a dispute over pay and conditions.

Local negotiating secretary Geraldine O'Neill says the workload facing those in the profession has grown beyond a reasonable amount:
