Health minister provides update in House of Keys
An independent regulator should raise standards within the Island's healthcare service without forcing doctors to look over their shoulder.
That's from Ramsey MHK Dr Alex Allinson after Health Minister David Ashford provided an update at this week's sitting of the House of Keys.
Representatives from the Care Quality Commission are due to visit the Island shortly, with the aim of introducing a Manx model early next year.
Dr Allinson says the system has to benefit both patients and medical staff:
