Inflation rises to 10.8%

Up from 9.2% in June

Inflation on the Isle of Man increased last month and now stands at 10.8 per cent.

It's a 1.6 per cent rise compared to June when the Consumer Prices Index was at 9.2 per cent.

Fuels are among the biggest contributors to inflation with oil and other fuels up 89.9 per cent, compared to this time last year, gas increasing 78.7 per cent and petrol up 47.7 per cent.

Sea travel has more than doubled in price over the last 12 months but the cost of air travel has fallen by 4.6 per cent.
