Inquest into Church Road Marina death adjourned

Toxicology results expected to take significant number of weeks

An inquest into the death of a Douglas man has been adjourned while investigations continue.

Forty-three-year-old Spencer Bryan Galvin, who was originally from Birkenhead, was found unresponsive in a lane at the rear of Church Road Marina earlier this month.

The court heard there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of Mr Galvin, who lived at the Belsfield Hotel on Church Road Marina.

Coroner of Inquests Jayne Hughes confirmed toxicology tests were ongoing, with the results not expected for a significant number of weeks.

A police statement revealed officers were called to the scene shortly after 7pm on 8 April to find Mr Galvin lying in the road.

Attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful.

A post mortem report found he died as a result of a fall from a significant height, but Mrs Hughes said the cause of death was yet to be ascertained.

Mr Galvin's body was released to his family and Mrs Hughes offered her condolences to his relatives before adjourning the proceedings.
