Castle Rushen students study wrong English text
An investigation is underway after year 11 students at an Island high school were given the wrong text to study for a GCSE English exam.
Castle Rushen High School pupils sitting the IGCSE in English Literature found they had studied last year's set text - but on the advice of the exam board, sat the paper this morning (25 May) as planned.
The exam is worth 25% of the overall grade for the subject.
The Department of Education has asked the exam board for special consideration, and insists students won't be disadvantaged when applying for courses starting later this year.
Both the department and the school have apologised.
