IOM Constabulary looking for new special constables

Volunteer support sought

People are being given the opportunity to protect their community and help police in major incidents.

The Isle of Man Constabulary is looking for new special constables.

Last year, the Island's 40 volunteer officers carried out more than 8,000 hours of work in a range of areas with the Constabulary, including neighbourhood policing and the roads policing unit.

Special Superintendent Ian Horsey says there is a variety of reasons why people might be keen to get involved: (play audio)

The information events take place at the TT Grandstand press centre tonight and Thursday, 31 January, with both getting under way at 7pm.
