MHK warns ahead of fraud consultation
An MHK has warned against complacency in regulation - and says no jurisdiction can ever claim to be fully 'clean'.
Clare Bettison was speaking as a new consultation was launched aimed at tackling fraud and other financial crime.
The Manx finance sector has been under the spotlight several times in recent months - including a damning MONEYVAL assessment last year, the release of the Paradise Papers, and most recently, inclusion on a European 'grey list' of low tax nations.
Government maintains efforts are ongoing to promote the Island as a well-regulated business hub.
