Foraging Vintners says legislation scuppers 'pop-up' events
Licensed Island businesses are being held back by outdated legislation.
That's according to the owner of Foraging Vintners, a Port Erin-based restaurant which, when it can, serves customers from an outdoor 'pop-up'.
The occasional licensing provision within the Licensing Act 1995 means businesses wishing to put on events away from their premises must first give two-three months notice, receive permission from the court, and the police.
The business also take out an advert in the newspaper, highlighting the event.
