Island charity marks 25 years supporting families travelling with sick relatives

Robert Owen House provides accommodation in Liverpool

​A local charity is hosting a thanksgiving service today (14 May) to mark its 25th anniversary.

Friends of Robert Owen House raise approximately £25,000 a year to help maintain a ‘home from home’ in Liverpool next to the Heart and Chest Hospital.

Robert Owen House provides accommodation for family to stay on site while their loved ones are having surgery or treatment.

June Young founded the charity after making use of the service when her late husband David was ill: 

The Friends of Robert Owen House's Thanksgiving Service will be held at Ballaugh Parish Church from 3pm today (14 May) with afternoon tea to follow - everyone is welcome to attend.

The charity is currently looking for new members.
