Man arrested following incident in Heysham
A motorist from the Isle of Man has been arrested in the UK on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
A 74-year-old woman died in Heysham on Wednesday.
The woman was a passenger in a Honda Jazz which collided with a BMW M5 on the Bay Gateway.
A statement from Lancashire Police says a third vehicle, also a BMW, may have been involved, but failed to stop at the scene.
It was later recovered in the Nottinghamshire area, resulting in the arrest of a 31-year-old man from the Island.
The collision also left two other women in the Honda with injuries, while the occupants of the M5 sustained minor injuries and whiplash.
Lancashire Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the incident, particularly those who may have dashcam footage.
