Consultants among highest paid public workers
Health and Social Care Minister Howard Quayle says the vast majority of highly-paid public sector workers are in his department.
Questions about the number of staff earning more than £200,000 per year have been raised in Tynwald, amid claims the number has risen by 15 in just five years.
Mr Quayle said the majority of those individuals were in his department, in particular hospital consultants who can earn salaries of up to £250,000.
The minister insisted the Island had to offer competitive wages in order to secure high quality health care:
