Island pays homage to fallen of war

Wreaths will be laid and prayers offered for the fallen of two World Wars and other conflicts, in Remembrance Sunday services across the Island.

The Isle of Man National Service of Remembrance takes place at the Royal Chapel of St John this afternoon.

This morning veterans, serving personnel and members from a host of other service organisations will form a procession through the town to a service in St Thomas' Church in Douglas at 10 am.

That will be followed by a parade to the War Memorial on the promenade where a salute will be taken by the mayor of Douglas Carol Malarkey and two minutes of silence observed at 11 am.

Manx Radio will broadcast proceedings live from 10 am.
