
A pill designed to reduce alcohol consumption among problem drinkers will be assessed by Island health officials.
The tablet - which costs 3 pounds - could soon be prescribed on the NHS in England and Wales.
Already in place in Scotland, it works by blocking the part of the brain that gives drinkers pleasure from alcohol.
Dr Kirsten Wafer, a psychiatrist with the Drug and Alcohol Team, says there’s much to consider before deciding whether it’s introduced in the Island.
