Island's housing crisis to go under the spotlight in Tynwald

Island Plan, face masks and teacher morale also on agenda

Douglas Central MHK Chris Thomas will raise the issue of the Island's housing crisis in Tynwald later today.

He will ask Treasury Minister David Ashford, what funds are readily available from a £400 million bond which was issued in September last year.

Mr Thomas' question follows his recent appointment as chairman of the government's new housing and community board:

Elsewhere on the Tynwald agenda today the Island Plan will be put forward for approval.

Members will be asked to approve the document, detailing government's plans for the next five years, though some MHKs say they've not been able to properly scrutinise the final draft.

There'll also be questions on face masks in schools and teacher morale.

The sitting starts at 10:30am, you can listen live on Manx Radio AM1368, online and on our smartphone app.
