Isle of Man falls silent to remember fallen key workers

Island joins UK's tribute to those who've lost their lives to coronavirus

The Isle of Man has joined the United Kingdom in a minute's silence in tribute to those who've died as a result of coronavirus while working on the frontline.

The government, Isle of Man Post Office and trade unions have been among those observing the silence, following the deaths of more than 100 NHS and care staff in the UK.

It coincides with International Workers Memorial Day, which honours those who've lost their lives at work.

Prospect Trade Union Negotiations Officer Mick Hewer says it's important for the Isle of Man to stand with its UK counterparts:
