Jobs lost as Burton, Dorothy Perkins and Wallis close today

Boohoo buyout hits Douglas high street

Nineteen jobs have been lost on Douglas high street after confirmation that Burton, Dorothy Perkins and Wallis have closed permanently today (9 Feb).

It's after online fashion company Boohoo bought the Arcadia Group brands out of administration, but the deal didn't include the physical stores.

Douglas Town Centre Manager Oliver Cheshire says it's a sad loss for the high street, but there is reason to be optimistic:
