Mr Quayle has been involved in local politics since 1973
After nearly 50 years of service to local politics in the north of the Island, John Quayle has decided to step down.
Mr Quayle has been involved with Jurby Commissioners since 1973, as well as taking on roles with neighbouring authorities in Andreas and Ballaugh.
To celebrate his retirement, a special event was held at Jurby Parish Hall last week, with government ministers, commissioners, and friends.
Mr Quayle offered some words of advice to his successors:
Businesses have until April to prepare for minimum wage increase
Infrastructure minister insists school buses will not be scrapped
Braddan Commissioners says social housing roof works doubled in costÂ
'No evidence' Isle of Man in recession, says treasury minister
