Elderly people at risk
A warning has gone out to be aware of vulnerable people being taken in by scams.
Pete Heselwood from Home Instead IOM, says the amounts aren't always large and older people on the Island can fall into the trap of thinking they're living in a "bubble" and are safe from schemes to con them out of their money.
He says scams by phone or online can be very believable and we all need to be aware and keep an eye out, particularly for older folk who could be taken in.
