Position to support ageing population
The chief minister says he will consider appointing a political member to 'champion' the cause of the Island's older generation.
Howard Quayle told the House of Keys ministers are in favour of the idea of creating a new departmental position, with a remit to ensure the needs of older residents are met.
He was answering a question from Onchan MHK Rob Callister, who wanted to know if a clear strategy was being drawn-up to support the ageing population.
Mr Quayle said it was an area he knew very well from his time as health and social care minister:
