Keys questions over the future of social care services

Social Care Minister Chris Robertshaw faces questions over the future of services run by his department this morning.

He’ll be quizzed by North Douglas MHK Bill Henderson and West Douglas MHK Chris Thomas in the House of Keys later.

They want to know more about recently-announced plans to have government care facilities run by external bodies.

Also on the agenda is local authority reform, with Infrastructure Minister David Cretney fielding a question from Onchan MHK David Quirk.

MHKs are due to ask 15 questions for oral answer this morning, and another twelve for written reply.

A bill amending the Representation of the People Act and another on work permits are due to receive their first reading when the house sits today – other bills being steered through stages involve the post office, foreign companies and limited liability companies.

And Infrastructure Minister David Cretney will ask the house to back plans to broadcast all House of Keys sitting live over the internet.

You can hear live coverage of Keys questions on Manx Radio’s AM1368 frequency from 10am.
