Chair of Communications Commission to remain political
The Home Affairs Minister has followed up the rejection of a Legislative Council amendment to the Communications Bill with a strong assertion of the supremacy of the House of Keys.
Bill Malarkey argued against a LegCo call for the Chairman of the Communications Commission to be non-political.
Mr Malarkey is presently Chair.
Keys members voted against that LegCo proposal by 13 votes to 10.
Mr Malarkey then asserted the standing of Keys in passing laws:-
Inquest into death of man who died in Hillberry crash opened
Reduced hours for a number of sub-Post Offices come into effect
Gas regulation bill criticised for lack of clarity, accountability and purpose
Housing, healthcare and overspending some of the concerns ahead of elections
