Kidnapping case dismissed by Deemster

Four men from England arrested on the Island last October

A Deemster in the Isle of Man has dismissed a court case against four men from England accused of kidnapping. 

Twenty-year-old Zishaan Amar Sharif, Amman Sohail, also 22, Muhammad Khan, 25 and Abdul Aha, 20 were arrested last October.

They were accused of travelling to the Island to take another man by ferry to Heysham against his will.

On June 25, Deemster Alistair Montgomerie said "no evidence has been offered against any of the defendants".

He added in respect of the kidnapping allegation, "the charge is now dismissed".

Douglas courthouse heard the complainant had declined to give evidence.
