KWC pupil to sing at Carnegie Hall

Evan takes the Honors

A pupil at King William’s College, will travel to New York in June to become the first Isle of Man student to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York as part of the US Honors Performance Series choir.

Soprano Evan Darroch is in the Lower Fourth (Year 7) at King William’s College, having previously attended The Buchan School.

Participation in one of the three Honors Ensembles is limited to the highest-rated middle school performers from across North America and select schools internationally.

Evan will travel to New York for three days of rehearsals and workshops with conductor Sally Albrecht prior to the performance at Carnegie Hall on Saturday, June 23rd.

Steve Daykin, Director of Music at King William’s College, says Evan will be representing both the College and the Isle of Man, joining other performers from the US, several provinces of Canada, Mexico and Taiwan.
