Social Care Minister Chris Robertshaw has agreed to extend consultation on new laws governing landlords after a meeting last night.
The public meeting saw him face an hour and a half of questions from private landlords angered by new proposals which would impose minimum standards of accommodation and a register of those who let property.
Consultation on the Landlords and Tenants Bill was due to end on Friday but last night he said if a Landlords' Association was set up, he’d allow extra time to hold talks with it.
Mr Robertshaw says he understands why people are concerned:
Storm Dave to bring severe gales
Manx Care 'attempting to establish contact' with dental provider as patients face uncertainty
'Significant dredging works' in Douglas Harbour
'Operational reasons' and tidal restrictions delay Heysham sailing schedule
