Last sitting for Tynwald before summer recess

Packed question paper with 57 questions

For the final time before the summer recess, Tynwald assembles this morning (Tues 17) at the Legislative Buildings in Douglas.

And members could be engrossed for quite a while - with a packed schedule of significant topics for discussion.

There are 57 items on the question paper from the Legislative Council as well as Y Chiare as Feed - the House of Keys - 38 of those questions for oral answer.

In total, there are 32 items on the order paper, and a further four on a supplementary order paper.

One of the headline topics of debate will be how government goes about plugging the public sector legacy funding gap.

And the minimum wage could be set to go up - as high as £7.85 per hour - if members give their approval.

The court will look at options for funding nursing and residential care in the future.

Kate Beecroft will ask about the loss of £26 million, written off over a decade, in relation to the Media Development Fund.

Politicians will take a further look at parliamentary reform.

And the changing nature and role of the Post Office will also be discussed at length, with a statement on a five-year strategy from its Chair, and reassurances sought from another MHK about its future.

You can listen in to the sitting live from 10:30am, online at manxradio.com via the AM player, on the smartphone app, or on AM1368.
