Coastguard called to rescue woman
Last night's fireworks display in Douglas took an unexpectedly wet turn for one reveler.
Emergency services responded to reports of a woman going into the sea near the War Memorial at around 11pm.
She'd got into difficulty, and was being taken out into the bay by the tide.
Police, paramedics and the coastguard - who were forced to enter the water to retrieve the woman - attended the scene.
They say the entire episode was lapped up by watching crowds.
