Update on plans due in Tynwald
The Isle of Man Law Society says a government scheme designed to cut legal aid costs will in fact do the opposite.
Its president, Jane Gray, appeared on Sunday Opinion on Manx Radio to speak about the proposal.
The Public Defender scheme has been put forward as part of government's SAVE initiative, a progress report on which will be debated in Tynwald next week.
Ms Gray says government's claims don't stack up:
Care funding reform report delayed following ministerial change
Charity plans baby loss memorial garden at Noble's Hospital
New rights for neonatal care leave and carer's leave on the way
Manx Wildlife Trust launches new internship programme
