Laxey fund aims to help flood victims long term

Christmas will be another tough time

The organiser of a fund to help those whose properties were damaged in the Laxey floods warns it will be months before they're back in their homes.

Garff Commissioner Nigel Dobson has announced the Laxey Fund will be matching the government emergency payment of £500.

It was confirmed last week 37 applications have been made for the Manx Government grant.

Mr Dobson says Christmas will be another hard time for victims of the flooding:
