Laxey Wheel conservation project nears completion

The project has taken two years

The project to conserve one of the Island's most famous landmarks is nearing completion.

The Great Laxey Wheel is turning again following a series of test runs - although work to iron out a few teething troubles is continuing.

The restoration project has taken two years and engineers say the wheel's mechanism is in good order.

John Paul Walker is the Historic Buildings Architect for Manx National Heritage and says it's been an interesting voyage of discovery:
