Legal advice sought after Palace Cinema fire

Findings from safety inspection referred

Findings from an inspection at the Palace Cinema following a fire there have been referred to legal advisers.

The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service carried out a standard fire safety inspection following the blaze on 3 October.

It happened in the filter of the screen two boiler and led to a day of cancelled screenings.

The Department of Home Affairs has told Manx Radio that no further information can be given at this time.

However, it's reminding people responsible for properties, which fall under the Fire Precautions Act 1975, to ensure they meet fire safety requirements 'at all times'.
