Let Manx Radio get on with the job says Baker

MHK amendment gains Tynwald approval

Ayre and Michael MHK Tim Baker says the time has come to let Manx Radio get on with the job of providing public service media for the Island.

His amendment to a select committee report passed through Tynwald on Tuesday after a combined vote of members.

There are three strands; a commitment to independent public service media based on the core values of informing, educating and entertaining.

The Council of Ministers to talk to the BBC to secure better outcomes for the Isle of Man.

And Manx Radio to develop a sustainable operational and funding plan for the station to go to its shareholder and Tynwald by October.

Mr Baker says they're relieved with the final decision.
