Pinewood profit fails to move LibVan

Share sales net £11m profit

LibVan leader Kate Beecroft has rejected a suggestion her stance against the government's Pinewood investment has made her look foolish.

Mrs Beecroft has consistently criticised the deal and has tabled dozens of questions in the House of Keys and Tynwald on the matter over recent years.

However, figures released last week showed the Manx government has made more than £11 million selling its shares in Pinewood studios – and still has more than 40 per cent of its initial stake.

Speaking on Manx Radio's Present Politics programme, she said she was delighted the Island had made money, but maintains it's government which has been foolish in the principle of investing in a company listed on the Alternative Investment Market:
