Over-75s negotations ongoing with BBC
The Chief Minister says agreement with the BBC regarding TV licence concession for those aged 75 and over will happen in the next few months.
Howard Quayle was replying to a question on the issue from David Cretney MLC
From next year, the BBC will contribute phased funding towards means-tested licence concessions for over 75s in Jersey.
In Tynwald today (Tuesday), Mr Quayle said negotiations were continuing to make sure the Isle of Man was also included in the funding arrangements.
He said he was heartened by the Corporation's vow to treat all Crown Dependencies 'equitably'.
The BBC will contribute one third of the cost in 2018/19, rising to the full amount from 2020/2021.
