Passengers asked to allow 'plenty of additional time to travel to the airport'
Passengers travelling through Liverpool John Lennon Airport are being warned to allow extra travel time.
It's as weekend road closures and 'lengthy diversions' are planned in August which the airport says 'are likely to cause significant delays'.
Essential carriageway maintenance works are due to take place on Speke Boulevard and Speke Road - the A561 and A562 - in Speke, with closures in place this weekend (9/10 August) and next (16/17 August).
A signposted diversion will be in place, however, airport bosses are warning this is equates to 'around 13 miles' and 'could lengthen journey times significantly'.
Anyone travelling to the airport over both weekends is advised to allow plenty of additional time to travel to the airport.
The works are weather dependent, and dates and times are therefore subject to change at short notice.
