But chemist business won't confirm which ones
LloydsPharmacy won’t reveal which branches on the Isle of Man are being sold.
However the company has confirmed it is 'selectively selling' some of its estate.
Customers in Port Erin have told Manx Radio they believe their chemist is one of those being sold.
In a statement LloydsPharmacy said: "The majority of buyers of these selected branches are independent pharmacy owners and local businesspeople who have demonstrated their commitment to our branch teams and patients and are well placed to meet the ongoing health needs of the local community.
"The LloydsPharmacy team is pleased that its colleagues from these stores will be joining successful, local businesses and that for patients there will be no change in the way they use their local pharmacy."
Manx Care says it can’t provide comment on ongoing commercial activities as LloydsPharmacy is a private business.
But it’s added: "Community pharmacies have an essential role in healthcare provision on the Island, providing a vital service to the public.
"The Department of Health and Social Care provides advice and support to all of the Island’s community pharmacies and is always working with Manx Care, other departments and stakeholders to ensure that our pharmacy provision is secure and delivering the required service to the public."
